So Goran wrote that the 4WD Terios is RWD and only sends power to the front when the rear is slipping. AWD-Wiki wrote that it's constant 4WD with a 50:50 split. Can someone with definite knowledge please tell me which it is? Thank you! December 05, 2023 - 16:37
AWD-Wiki is right. Terios II is full-time AWD. I will try to explain. When the center diff is not locked, the TORQUE will always split 50:50. Which means the axles always get the same amount of torque but they could have different speeds according to their traction. For example if one of the front wheels get off the ground or completely lose its traction, which means it requires minimal torque to rotate, then as long as the front and the center differentials are open type, all the 3 other wheels will get the same amount of torque and they will not move. When the center diff is locked, the SPEED on both the axles is always equal. Which means the axles could get different amounts of torque according to their wheels traction. For example if one of the front wheels get off the ground or completely lose its traction then only the other wheel of the front axle will get the same amount of torque and will not move, the rear axle will keep rotating at the same speed of the front and if BOTH of its wheels have traction, the car will keep moving. The rear axle wheels traction is more difficult to be lost thanks to the LSD (probably torsen type). If the car is equipped with VSC it will behave differently. Hope you found this comment helpful. No Steve, that's not quite right. Terios II is equiped with an LSD on the rear axis except for those equipped with VSC. It looks like it's a torsen type LSD. August 09, 2017 - 14:03
Daihatsu terios 2001 y. I think when its last wheels slip, then the front wheels automatically engage (because it is a constant rear wheel and the front falls as needed), and when I press the 4x4 (4wd) button, it has a constant (constant) drive at all 4 points. Does the Daihatsu Terios 4WD 2001 god. has a constant drive to all 4 wheels or just the latest and last from spinning when it is activated and the front drive.
